Social value and its Measurement in the Third Sector
The Social Earnings Ratio (S/E) is a currency for non-financial values. The S/E Ratio is the corollary to the Price Earnings Ratio (p/e), the single number index of financial value which is accepted on all stock markets in the world.
Total value of a company/ organisation consists not only of its financial value but also from the social value which encompasses all kinds of intangible values including health & wellbeing (happiness), modern slavery (transparency in supply chains), mindfulness, art, goodwill, domestic violence, animal welfare, consumer indices, etc.
Total Value = Financial Value + Social Value
